French Toast

I normally give my almost 11 month old daughter some cereal or scrambled eggs for breakfast. This morning I decided to try out some French Toast. We had some too. Its quick and easy to make and you can have it on its own or with some yummy maple syrup or butter pecan syrup or even just fresh fruit.

3 extra Large eggs
Splash of milk and cream or either or
1 tsp of Vanilla extract
5 slices of bread.
Icing sugar (for dusting) optional
Maple / Pecan / other syrup to serve
Fresh Fruit optional

Crack eggs, add milk and or cream and vanilla essence and beat using a fork till combined. In a large frying pan add a knob of butter and some sunflower or vegetable oil. This helps the butter not to burn as it heats up. Dip the bread on both sides in the egg mixture and add to the hot pan, once it starts to cook reduce the heat to a medium heat. Once browned flip over and cook on the other side. Drizzle with syrup, dust with icing sugar and serve with fruit. Yum. Enjoy : )
